Nose/Aroma - Cherry and violets.
Palate/Flavors - Dark cherry and dark berry fruit. Earthy undertone, almost mushroom. Medium body with dark color. Medium acid and bitterness, light astringency.
Food Pairing - Fusilli pasta with bleu cheese sauce.
Comments - I don't think Pinot Noir when I think Hawkes Bay, though I've made several of them in the past. There are cooler areas where Pinot Noir can grow nicely. Very enjoyable wine that I would call serviceable, but not stunning.
