The ethereal nature of wine allows the combination of artistic creativity with scientific thought in a unique way. I began cultivating my passion for winemaking after this epiphany at the age of twenty. This was when I began studying winemaking and took my first job in the wine industry.

The ancient art of winemaking has been meticulously studied over the years. Still, there is still so much unknown about the process that transforms grapes into wine. This is main reason that winemaking is so fascinating to me and my goal is to stay at the forefront of the wine industry. Since earning bachelors degrees in Wine & Viticulture (Enology & Wine Business concentrations) and Agricultural Business (International Agribusiness Management concentration) from California Polytechnic University San Luis Obispo in 2008, I have never lost my desire to continually educate myself in all things wine.

I entered the wine industry in 2006, and have eleven vintages worth of experience in California, Australia, and New Zealand under my belt: one in Napa Valley, one in Marlborough, one in Margaret River, three in Gisborne, and five in Edna Valley. While working in these acclaimed growing regions, I have had the privilege of producing wine at facilities ranging in size from 2,000 tons to 30,000 tons, while working with numerous talented winemakers. I have learned a myriad of winemaking techniques for producing wine at a broad range of styles, price-points, and lot sizes: 80-ton Cabernet Sauvignon lots, 200,000-liter Chardonnay lots, 15,000-liter Gruner Veltliner lots, 300-liter late harvest Viognier lots, 1/2-ton Pinot Noir lots, and everything in between. I have pretty much worn every hat available in a winery: client winemaker, fermentation winemaker, intake winemaker, supervisor, cellar hand, lab rat, punchdown specialist, inoculation guru, tank digger, press operator, forklift driver, sanitation expert, and the list goes on. I love every aspect of wine production, and have always enjoyed hands-on winemaking.

My services are available to anyone interested in an intelligent, fun-loving, hard-working winemaker. I am proud to offer my services due to my extensive knowledge in all things wine:
  • Vintage - grape intake scheduling, crush operations management, floatation & cold solids separation, yeast propagation, fermentation management, barrel selection.
  • Cellar management - work planning and scheduling, staff training and supervision.
  • Laboratory management - extensive knowledge in winery analysis, batch tracking, quality control, staff training, and supervision.

  • Vineyard assessment and maturity tracking.
  • Wine style development.
  • Winery logistics and design.
  • Machinery troubleshooting.

Plus, your winery gets the added benefit of advertisement via my website while I work for you (if desired).
  • Wine tasting seminars, wine & food dinners, guest lectures - I can work with your needs to setup any number of events or classes, whether you're a restaurant or hotel that wants a special weekly event, an individual planning a private function, or an educational institution looking for a lecturer (currently based in Bali, Indonesia but willing to travel).
  • Wine writing - My expertise in all things wine can be translated into articles on a wide array of topics, including winemaking techniques, wine regions and travel, wine reviews, and market trends. My extensive photographic archive is also available.
